HEY GUYS.

My last entry was on July 31st.  I didn’t even realize I’d been gone for that long.

What have I been up to?  Work, field work, lots of driving, cleaning up puppy presents left conveniently in the kitchen, living room, and kennel, dealing with an otherwise adorable puppy who is not immune to shithead puppy behavior like biting and chewing Mommy’s carpet.  (Someone’s getting neutered in three weeks.)  Trying to get back into shape with some successes and miserable failures (like waking up this morning with such bad dehydration that I felt hungover. YAY FUN!)

Oh, and falling in love with Inara George’s voice:

I heard this song at Ulta a couple of months ago, and was intrigued. I’m usually very skeptical of covers but I really dug her smooth, detached vocals and otherwise faithful rendition.

So yesterday I looked up the song, and guess what? Her band, the bird and the bee, have an ENTIRE ALBUM devoted to Hall and Oates covers.

I know it’s a completely hipster thing to do, but I don’t care, because it’s AWESOME.

So yes. That is what I have been doing.
